Hustle is important, but ignoring the signs of burnout is a recipe for disaster.

That's why I firmly believe vacations aren't a luxury; they're an investment in long-term success. Taking a break allows us to recharge, preventing burnout that stifles creativity and productivity.

Sometimes, the best way to solve a complex problem is to avoid it. Vacations give our brains the necessary reset to return with a fresh perspective, renewed energy, and greater focus. It's not about slacking off; it's about working smartly.

Steven Covey called this "sharpening the saw." One of the first organizations I worked for was a "Covey" business, meaning they followed the book "7 Habits of Highly Effective People". Covey references the story of the woodcutter who spends so much time cutting trees that he says he has no time to sharpen his saw. A dull saw cuts way LESS wood in much MORE time.
